First-time novelist, Alice Blanton, will be signing books at One Dozen Who Care in Andrews, NC, Dec 4, from 4 pmto 7pm

Alice Blanton, who many know as office administrator at One Dozen Who Care, Inc., as a tireless community organizer, and as a neighbor to anyone in need, can now add to her titles, Author.

Ms. Blanton has just released her first, self-published novel, Tell Me No Lies and will have her first book signing at Art Friday, Dec. 4th from 4pm to 7pm at One Dozen Who Care in Andrews, North Carolina.

Sadly, today, there are many who experience the crushing disappointments when loved ones break promises to quit painful habits. Tell No No Lies is a well-crafted social drama that keenly reflects the trials familiar to ones who are dealing with loved ones struggling with alcohol and drug dependencies. Yet, Lies is also a story about hope and forgiveness, and the price paid for enduring against all odds.

I think the nature of the fast-food, and disposable society has killed an ability to learn and to appreciate learning, it has killed an ability to see the need to learn; has killed the desire to know the answer to “why” as opposed to knowing the answer to “what”, and only “what”.

This is the beginning of a beautiful rant to be explored after a Vodka (potato vodka, that is) martini, followed by a few hours sleep.

The idea of being a writer without capturing an image, or capturing an image without writing about it is an artistically paralyzing thought for me. Almost as frightening as the enormous difficulty in trying to make a living doing either – or both. But not quite.

I’m going to keep this amazingly simple, just to do something different. Simply take a photo, and write a comment. A simple, miso soup, experience. The simple, but exquisitely pleasing taste of miso soup – that’s what I want – but for my words, my pictures, my efforts.
